Loving father of Barry Dean of IN and Nancy Powell and her husband, Stephen of Concord. Step-father of Mark Hamer and his wife Cheryl of NH, Laurel Walsh of VA and the late Scott A. Hamer USAF Maj. Ret. Dear cousin of David Colt and his wife, Marjorie of NH. Cherished grandfather of Lauren Powell and Rebecca Powell both of Concord and the late Christopher Powell and Matthew Hamer. Step-grandfather of Mara Cook-Hamer and Christopher Remillard both of NH, Jeneva Hamer and Jessica Hamer both of NV, Christopher Meeken, Eric Meeken and Marcus Davis all of NH. Great grandfather of Teegun Machado. "American father" of Rev. Dr. Mar Imsong and his family of Bedford. Memorial Service at the First Baptist Church, 561 Main St., Melrose, Sunday, November 4 at 3 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. I first met Al when I moved to Whitman Ave. and he lived on Echo Street in Melrose and shortly after his wife, Barbara, had died. He was a tall, stately, man, I thought, but had a gentleness about him.

He would always smile and waive whenever I would see him. Although I did not know him well, I thought of Al as a kind and caring man.

My prayers are with you all.
