Dear Karen,
I can't tell you how sad I was to hear that your Dad had passed away. He was truly one of my favorite relatives and definitely one of my Dad's. I feel as though a part of my Dad left with him as they shared so much history. He and your mother were very special to me. I became close to theme when I moved to the midwest for school. Not only did I spend time with them but I brought my daughter Carleigh to see them in Omaha and she used to communicate online with your Dad for some time. When I moved my Aunt Lois out to Chicago from L.A. your Dad always provided an ear to listen as I faced many challenges. I regret that I didn't see him in his new home but take comfort that Sergio, my husband, was able to visit him there. I will miss your parents very much and they will always hold a very special place in my heart. Please feel free to call or write me if you want. I know Gail mentioned to you that we share that same spot in our families and I'd be happy to connect with you if you'd like. My thoughts are with you. Take care, Laurie
