Been 16 years since you departed my friend. I miss the chats on the Ham Radio and the face to face for lunch or when you drove out to see me at one of my deliveries. You may be gone but not forgotten.

Knowing Arthur was a lot like having a second Grandfather. Arthur is one of the best people I ever met through Amateur Radio. Although we lost touch, I always think about him. In a world where some of us have few real friends, I have to remember the good ones especially when they are gone. My best to Arthur and his family. 73's

Arthur
I have been out of ham radio for quite a while. I miss talking to you on the radio. I remember that anywhere I went I could always get in touch with you. I remember talking to you on Mt. Greylock when I went away to school and you always sounded like you were in the room with me. You were always there and every conversation was a great time. I'll never forget you.

Thanks to my father (Ross Burton) and his love of chatting for hours on the radio with his local and long distance buddies, I had the pleasure of meeting Arthur. When I first met Arthur, I was a child. I got to know Arthur by the sound of his voice as he would sign onto the radio and chit chat with my dad while we were in the car enroute to some snowy destination. Arthur always had kind words for me and, after I decided to move thousands of miles away to California, he continued to keep tabs on me through his conversations with my father. I was so moved last month when I recieved a beautiful card and a generous check from Arthur for my wedding day. My humble thanks to Arthur for his kindness to me and my family through the decades. I will miss hearing his voice on the other side of my dad's radio.

Dear Arthur,
You were more family than friend, as we shared our love for David.
We also shared a love for the natural world, especially birds. You will always have a special place in my heart, even as I know your spirit now soars with the eagles.

Although I never met Arthur, I spoke to him many times on the radio. I remember listening to him converse with the astronauts on the space station. It was obvious that they knew Arthur and loved to talk to him whenever they passed in range of New England.
Arthur was an inspiration to me.
