Mary Jane Cryan

63, of Winchester and Deerfield Beach, FL died unexpectedly at her home on Nov. 5, 2007. Born in Co. Sligo, Ireland on Nov. 22, 1943, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Cullen) Cryan. Mary grew up and was educated in Ireland then attended nursing school in England and Scotland before settling in Boston in 1968. She worked at Brigham & Womens and Mass. General Hospitals and as a private nurse for many years. Mary had an adventurous spirit. She loved to travel, fish, golf, ski, play tennis and walk her dog Freddy. Mary was the longtime companion of the late Charles Mirak of Arlington. She is survived by a sister, Catherine O'Dea and her husband Louie of Needham; three brothers: Thomas Cryan and his wife, Annie May and Joseph Cryan and his wife Mary, all of Co. Sligo, Ireland, and Barry Cryan and his wife Helena of No. Attleboro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 3-7 PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., ATTLEBORO. A funeral will be conducted on Tuesday at 9 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 No. Main St., Attleboro.
