Salvatore LaRosa Obituary

Of Everett formerly of Salem, VA, November 17, 2007 Age 91. Husband of the late Virginia H. (Huels) LaRosa. Beloved father of Linda L. Massouda and her husband Abe of Middleton. Dear brother of Agnes Marchese of Chelsea and the late Anthony La Rosa, Frank LaRosa, Vivian Leone, Frances Marino, Mafalda Marchese, Angela Montalbano, & Josephine Loretti. Dear grandfather of Suzanne Hanson of NC and the late Scott Slaney and Brian Slaney. Also lovingly survived by 2 great-grandchildren: Zachary Hanson and Sydney Hanson both of NC. Funeral Services will be conducted in the Willian R. Carafa & Son Home for Funerals, 389 Washington Ave., CHELSEA on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 11 A.M. Relatives & friends kindly invited to attend. Visitation with the family on Wednesday morning in the Funeral Home from 9 to 11 A.M. Retired Captain U.S. Marine Corps WWII. Recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds received in action on July 30, 1944 in the Asiatic-Pacific area. Former employee of the GSA in Boston. Past elected two-term alderman Ward 5 City of Chelsea and former acting Mayor. For those who wish donations may be made to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, PO Box 1947, Quantico, VA 22134.

Mr. Larosa,
Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USMC during WW II in the Pacific fighting the Japanese. It was the history and accomplishments made by you and your fellow Marines in WW II that all of us Marines who followed in your footsteps have always tried to live up to. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

The Dept. of Ma. Marine Corp League thanks you for your service to God, our Country, and to our beloved Corps.
To Tony's family we send our deepest sympathies and our prayers on your loss and the loss of our Brother. Tony has now reported to our Supreme Commandant where he has earned his place on the streets of Heaven. He will watch over you forever and his spirit will live in your hearts thru the memories he left you. May God bless you and be at your side in the coming day, weeks and months as you struggle to cope with this loss of a great Marine.
