Charlie was my very best friend during our senior year at Malden Catholic. We shared Office Detention together many times. We both loved to play basketball. He brought out the very best of me when we were on the courts. He was a much better player than I.
It was Charlie who convinced me to go to Salem State College, with the aim of playing for their basketball team. However we both ended up in the armed forces. I spent four years in the Air Force, and, sadly, never saw Charlie again. After my tour of duty, I was graduated from Salem State and taught for thirty eight years here in Ma, before retiring in 1999. I would never have gone to any college without Charlie's prodding. For that I am eternally grateful.
My only regret is not contacting him in the past years.
I just want the family to know that I have always had a place in my heart for him, and will remember him fondly in my daily prayers.

Mr. Obremski,
Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
