so I finally got my tattoo on Wednesday! Adin says you're a bird now so I got his name with a bird but u already knew that... Saw your dad and kathleen on Tuesday. Adin loves his papa!! They are both crazy little kids who constantly needed to be shushed in the restaurant!! Haha. At least he didnt say it was anyones birthday. So ridiculous. Well I do miss you. Even though you made me a crazy person. Your son is so awesome and talks about you often. Ryan is so good for us and he always makes sure you're a part of Adin's memories. Keep your kid in line and guide through this life safely! You know mama's taking good care of your mini me:) miss you Nate....

Not one day has gone by that you havent crossed my mind. I keep a picture of you and I on my dashboard and I like to think you are always with me. Every day I regret not attending your funeral and saying my goodbyes. I hope where ever you are you know why I wasn't there, you know that I am sorry, and you know that I miss you. Forever you will be in my heart and my thoughts. I love you pal!!

I miss you so much. i have a shirt of yours that u left at my house 1 night and i cant bring myself to donate it or return it to Kathleen or your Dad. You will be forever in my heart, prayers, and thoughts every day.

To the entire Woodruff family - I have the sweetest pictures and memories of Nate and my daughter, Kelly when they were just 4 or 5 yrs old. I only met him that one day so long ago. To me he'll always be that smiley, sweet little boy. I'm so sorry -

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love, Where there is injury, pardon, Where there is doubt, faith, Where there is despair, hope, Where there is darkness, light, Where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, not so much to be understood as to understand, not so much to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in dying that we awake to eternal life.

Hi Nate I am saying hi again, Last night we all had to say goodbye to a family member and too so many a friend. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do! I hope you were sitting in a cloud chair wait a beer and one had and a cigarette in the other watching. So many family members and friends came to pay respect to you. I could not stop crying tears of sadness and joy, the tears of sadness were because you were gone from so many lives and the tears or joy were for all the times we had together and knowing your in a better place watching over all of us. Everyone in the room broke down in tears when they mentioned your and Adin, it saddens me to know Adin is without a father in his young life. Don’t get me wrong you will always be his son and the memory he has of your it sketched in this mind and memories for ever! I had the privileged to meet the mother of one of the hardest working men I had ever met. I wish I could have met her under another circumstance but we didn’t think of you as gone forever but memories for ever. Again no matter the sky above or when you were 50 miles away you are my brother and I am still so shocked you are gone. My father sends his love he wished he could be there but he is 3-4 days out of surgery so he could not attend. Nate I miss you and Love you and will meet up again someday.
Love always

Nate,
I don't know what to do right now. KNowing that you are gone is the hardest thing that I have ever had to deal with. You were my best friend and we shared so many memories together. I feel like I am having a nightmare that I cannot wake up from. You always made me smile and you always did things no one in their right minds would do. You touched my heart in a way that I will never forget and for that I will always love you with all of my heart. I am greatful for my brother Brett for introducing us because I do not know what my life would be like without you in it. I will see you again someday but I have to wait until it is my time. I am so happy that I was able to see you before you passed. The excitement in your face showed me that you really did miss me and that you were so happy to see me and I was so happy to see you too. I will never forget that moment and I will cherish it forever. I love you forever and always. Im not going to say "goodbye" because it seems so permanent so instead I will say "see you later". I miss you and I cannot wait till I see you again.
I Love you

Nathaniel,
This still seems so unreal to me. I don't want to believe that I'll never see your warm smile again. Too young, taken from us too soon with so much life ahead of you. Such a good kid. I will miss you so much more than I can ever express here. You'll always be in my heart.

Dear Nathaniel, Karle and I first met you when you were 8 years old. I have often wished we had met much sooner, when you were just a toddler. We spent many years growing up together. You are forever embedded like a footprint in our lives. We see you roller boarding in Plainville, jumping off the pier at the Island, riding your bike down the block in Natick. Even though you have left this space we are now in, you are with us always as we go through the small motions of our daily lives. Your movie star smile pops up, and you tell us a silly joke. You are there dancing with the autumn leaves as they whirl down from the trees. You are mischievous little one, with your big heart and sweet sunny nature that shines through to all who meet you. Even in adverse times, your infectious smile would spring forth as you tried to make everyone feel better.
We are grateful that we got to spend some precious time with you this summer, and able to share some hugs before you left. We wish for much more, fervently wishing it turned out differently, but still thankful. Such a handsome young man you grew to be. I look forward to strolls on the beach, walking and talking with you when we meet again, as I believe we will.
Kip and Joanne, Teddy and Will, and to all family and friends who love him, our hearts go out to you. May you find peace and love in your memories, and hope and joy in Nathaniel’s son Aiden. I know he will carry on that wonderful heart and unforgettable smile of his Dad’s. We will never forget you.
Love, Karle Busse and Diane MacCausland

Nate I will never forget the times we spent together over the years. We didn’t see much of each other after we both moved on from the family we had but no matter how far of a distance you were 50 miles or the sky above you were like a brother to me. I will never for get the time you pranked Alissa, you had me in tears with laughter. I was laughing so hard I had to pull the car over and gather myself up before driving. It always made me feel good when you called us brothers-in-laws, you were family to me. Even tough I don’t see much of Adin I will try to be as much or a father figure I can be to him. I will teach Olivia she had a hardworking Uncle who loved her and I will tell Adin that his father loved him very much and he was a good person! I Love you Bro and I am still in shock that you’re gone!! We will meet up again someday and chill again! My deepest sympathy goes out to Nate’s family and friends…
Love Ya Bro

To think that we have all lost a very valued family member, father, friend and so much more is a saddening and frustrating thing. He had a great amount of drive and desire for life, his family and his profession. Knowing he is in a better place with Peter and many others who've left us too soon is some resolve.
I have many fond memories of combing the beach in Harwich for horse shoe crabs and then the gardens for rabbits, all the way to him last Christmas toting Aiden around on his arm with a giant smile on his face. I didn't see Nathaniel nearly enough, but when I did I could always count on spending at least a good hour with him sharing stories and laughing.
I'm sorry I cannot be in Needham on Friday, but my thoughts are with everyone.
take me with you Nathanie to talk with you

Nathaniel is kinder, more happy, and more genuine than most anyone I've ever met. Noone is immune to his contagious laugh, and why would anyone want to be?
It's hard to not be friends with Nate, and he was a good friend to
have.
Nate was my closest cousin, and I think all of the Woodruff grandkids would say the same thing. You will be sorely missed and joyfully remembered.
By the way, Nate, thanks for wiring the house, good job, hahaha!
I love you

Chris:
Once again, we gather to support and comfort. Once again, we draw strength from family and friends. Once again, we must not only mourn the loss of a life ended too soon but always remember the joy, happiness and love that life brought. It may seem unfair and unjust that this takes place during Thanksgiving but perhaps you can take a small bit of comfort in knowing that there is some hidden meaning in it and it is part of plan much grander than we ourselves will ever be able to understand. I pray for you, your family and Nathaniel whom I had the pleasure of knowing for a short while. God Bless
