Marian Kerr Obituary

Of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2007. Born Marian Roberta Tupper on June 9, 1926 in Boston, MA, she attended LaSalle College in Boston, MA, majoring in nursing, and working at Mass General Hospital. She also sang on Boston radio in the 1940s, and was known as "The Girl with the Golden Voice". In later years she became active in working with the homeless in Atlanta, and participated in many charitable organizations. She is survived by her daughter, Cindi Tupper Pottinger of Atlanta, Georgia, her son Charles Martin Tupper of Cincinnati, Ohio, Grandchildren Rachel Anderson of Atlanta, Allison and Adam Tupper of Lexington, KY, sister; Martha Unsworth of Montpelier, VT, niece Lily Deforge of Montpelier, VT, and nephews Tom Unsworth of Naples, FL and Fred Unsworth of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her son Richard Edson Tupper who died in 1952, husband, Frank Tupper, who passed in 1983, her second husband, Laurence Kerr, who passed in 2005, and parents, Frances and Charles Hancock. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. at New Covenant Community Church on Friday, November 23, 2007. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church, 3147 Chamblee Tucker Road, Chamblee, Georgia 30341. 770-451-2038. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
