Dear Liz's family,
Those of us from Liz's extended CRLS circle only found out of this loss this morning and all of us are stunned. I do not know how many will identify ourselves but you should know that your daughter touched many lives. her smile and quirky comments made CRLS a bit more fun and each of our days a bit brighter. I was saddened to hear the news, Monica told me yesterday. I remember stories you would tell us about Lizzie and her current endeavors while we were at work; you always beamed with such pride. I was so saddened to hear of your daughter's passing from John (Sheehan). Where have the years gone? It seems just yesterday, not 21 years ago that we worked Medical Evening Clinic together and you were facing her initial diagnosis. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting her, in reading her obituary, I developed a wonderful sense of this special young woman. There is no doubt that she was your daughter: loving, kind, positive, courageous, and giving. She learned the importance of embracing life each precious day. Through your example, she achieved more in her short time of life than many do who are given decades more time. What a tribute. What a loss. I cannot know your pain and grief, but I will hold you and your family in my heart as you all face the days and years ahead without her presence. Godspeed

The words "I am sorry for your loss" just don't seem enough. I have heard a lot about Lizzie from Gail Arnold who I work with. I can only hope that the hurt you feel will lessen in time and that you all find a way to live life for Lizzie.
