Kathy,
I know your Dad must have been wonderful from how you spoke so fondly of him. Although I met him only briefly, he seemed like the kind of guy you'd like to spend a lot of time with. I am sorry for the family's loss. I hope all the great memories you have of him will sustain you in the times ahead.

Mr. Dooley,
Sir, I didn't know you but as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USMC during WW II as a member of the Marine Detachment of the heavy cruiser USS Pittsburgh(CA 72) fighting the Japanese in the Pacific. It was the history and accomplishments made by you and your fellow Marines during WW II that all of us Marines who followed in your footsteps have always tried to live up to. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

A friendship wish at your time of loss. I hope you will be in good company to help you through.
