Blessed by an Angel

Who was this angel
Sent from above?
God sent him
to teach us unconditional love.

His name was Steve,
and his heart was of gold.
Why then did you take him,
not let him grow old?

Let's not look at how short his life was
with fear.
We must be grateful
for the blessings he gave us while here.

He could hold a cold heart
and warm it so gently.
God was working through him,
don't you see?

His own life, you could say,
wasn't quite easy.
But Steve didn't judge,
he stayed humble, not needy.

He did what had to be done,
he didn't complain.
He cared for sweet Kayla,
with the help of Loraine.

He loved his mom,
she loved him so.
Our hearts ache with such pain,
to see him go.

Although we'll truly miss him,
we can't be too sad.
He'd rather us feel the love
and the good times we had.

Like cruisin' through town,
listening to his boom, boom,
or watching him scetch an artistic piece
in his room.

Steve made us laugh out loud,
he didn't care.
He loved to play the guitar in the air.

He saw the good in all,
his light shone so brightly.
We must never take the lessons
he taught us lightly.

How do we thank such an angel,
for the gifts that he shared?
We must all be more like Steve,
to show the difference he made
by how much he cared.

Steve was a symbol of love,
kindness and peace.
I know, for his spirit now shines
through the hearts of his family, his friends
and my beloved niece.

With gratitude for Steve.

May God hold you in the warmth of his love,
Auntie Arlene
