Of Old Saybrook, CT, formerly of Lexington, MA, November 23, 2007. Wife of the late Lawrence D. Cormier. Mother of Anne DeLeo and her husband Andrew of Salem, VA, Lawrene Rafferty and her husband Michael of Old Saybrook, CT, Paul Cormier and his wife Susan of Grantham, NH, Joan O'Brien and her husband John of Chappaqua, NY, Joseph Cormier and his wife Stephanie of Freeport, ME, and the late Marcia Cormier. Sister of Evelyn Lantz of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Albert Mattie of Yonkers, NY. Irene is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington, Wednesday November 28 at 10:00am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Saint Brigid Church, Lexington at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington. Richard and I are both devastated to learn of your Mom's passing.We are in Fort Myers FL at this time. Your family has been a significant part of our lives. We loved seeing Irene speak about her loving and growing family. I shall always remember the wonderful times my Mom and I had with you in Lexington. Irene and Evelyn were best of friends. We will be in touch. We are returning to Cape Cod soon.

I was sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom over the Holiday. I lost my Mom 2 days after Christmas 1991. It's always hard to lose someone, even harder when a distance is involved. I have added your Mom to my prayers at night. My deepest sympathy to you and John and your family.
