I'm very sad to hear about your father and can't imagine how hard this has to be after losing your mom such a short time ago.

You have a wonderful family and it's clear how much you care for one another. You were also a great son and it seems that your father held out until he saw you again for a final goodbye.

On several occasions during my morning Globe reading ritual, including letters to the editor, I would notice heartening and constructive feedback and thought "this is good", only to see Murray Swerdlove had submitted it. I also remember his kind voice.
