Christine Swartwout Obituary

87, of Lake Ave., died November 24, 2007. Born December 16, 1919 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Essie Stacy. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. John A. Swartwout in 1964. Devoted mother of four children John Swartwout, Jr. of Houston, TX, Jeanette Whittier of Belchertown, Judy Cushman of Mexico, NY and Jim Swartwout of Lawrence, MA. She also leaves a brother William Stacy, sister Emily Barrow, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, Dec. 1 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church of Melrose. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice Assoc., 50 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01102 or to the Fitch Home, 75 Lake Ave., Melrose, MA 02176. Beers & Story BELCHERTOWN Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.

My greetings and sympathies to all of you. Ed McCabe forwarded this notice and when I saw it, there was a flood of memories of our early adolescence together, many of them involving snow and Jeremy's Inn with my dad. I value the friendship we shared at that time. I will pass this along to my Mom, Jim and Jon. My heart will be with you all on Saturday.
