(Ret. Sgt. BPD) of South Boston formerly of Brookline, November 27. Beloved husband of Ann M. (Keeley). Dear father of Susan Gavaghan and her husband Al of Quincy, Nancy Menjin and her husband George of South Boston and Lisa Burns and her husband Robert of West Roxbury. Brother of Morey Reitman and the late Gertrude Larkin and Bernard Reitman. Grandfather of Erin, Brendan and Maura Gavaghan, Jennifer, George and Patrick Menjin, Tavis and Calum Burns. Brother in law of John Keeley, Larry Keeley and Peg Carey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Wm. F. Spencer Funeral Home, 575 East Broadway (at H Street) SOUTH BOSTON, on Saturday at 9am. Funeral Mass in the Gate of Heaven Church at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-8pm. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery. Late Navy Veteran WW II. Member of the Fitzgerald Post, Post Police Superior Officers Association and Benevolent Society and South Boston Irish American Society. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bethany Infirmary, 97 Bethany Rd, Framingham, MA 01702 or Saint Brigid's School, 866 East Broadway, South Boston, MA 02127

I worked with Leon for years in Roxbury. He was a great Police Officer who served the city well and earned the admiration of all who served with him. He loved his "girls" and Southie My prayers are with you.

I was saddened to hear of my Uncle Don's passing. He was such a wonderful husband, father & uncle. I have such great memories of him throughout the years. He was such a good brother in law to my Mom and just great to all us kids in the Carey family.
