Mr. Counterman,
Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in Europe during WW II as a member of the 70th "Trailblazer" Infantry Division. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. The 70th Inf. Div. saw heavy combat in France and Germany from December of 1944 through to VE Day In May of 1945-first fighting in the Vosges Mountain along the French-German Border against the last German Offensive on the Western Front-not The Battle Of the Bulge but Operation Nordwind which the Germans launched on New Year's Day 1945 to take pressure off their forces in the Ardennes. The 70th Div fought under some of the most harshest conditions a new unit could fight under and prevailed. It later pierced the Germans' Siegfried Line and crossed the Saar River in February of 1945 and participated in the drive across southern Germany and despite suffering many casualties in a short amount of time, always triumphed-I'm sorry for going on and on, but whenever I read about what our men went through during WW II, I am always in awe.

Carolyn,
It will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories
of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again. I am always here for you if you need someone until the smiles come back into your heart and even after that time for as long as you would like.

My deepest sympathy to your family. I know my father, Bob Schellenberg, who passed away last year, would have wanted me to acknowledge their many years together at Atwater Throwing Co.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the entire family. We were never very close to your father but we always said hello when we met outside. We have been neighbors since the early 1960s and we will miss seing your father as he went on his fishing trips. We are sorry that we could not offer our condolences in person but we had a former comitment. Our prayers go with you all.

Carolyn, I wish I had words to express how sorry I am about your Dad. Please accept my deepest sympathy during this trying time. I wish I had known your Dad, but from all the times you talked about him, I somehow feel I did know him - just a little. Your very special caring and compassionate nature is a testament to his example. Much love to you and yours.....Susan

I enjoyed working in the garden with Stanley. We had great times fishing. We enjoyed eating at his favorite resturant Old Country Buffet. He will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Stanley's family and friends.

My deepest sympathy to his children and grandchildren. He was a great man who I admired and learned from over the 30 years I knew him. I will never forget the kindness and love he gave my loved ones and myself. God has blessed all of us for knowing him.
