We just found out that Uncle Joe had died -- I am so sorry to hear of his passing, but know that he is organizing a party right now with all of our parents and relatives, making sure that everyone is having a good time, and telling jokes... rest in peace, Uncle Joe.

Mr. Corbett,
Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice-first for our Country when you served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and secondly for the citizens of Boston when you served in the BFD. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

To all the family and friends of Joe Corbett:
What a friend we had in Joe. The Amero family enjoyed the Corbett family and saw lots of Joe around the house. Growing up so close to the Corbett household, and seeing Peg and Joe often, was a comforting feeling when we were kids.
Joe was one of my dads best friends. We would see Joe often on Sundays at the house having a Manhattan with dad. Many nights and weekends he would be down the cellar with my dad making screens, talking, laughing, having a beer, and back then, smoking.
He was always good to our family. He was a support and listened to my mom when she had problems with my dad. Joe was one of the only people that could tell my dad that he was "wrong" when in fact, my dad was wrong.
I remember him at card games when we were kids, holidays, Christmas, and birthdays. Joe was a good friend, a caring soul, and a gentleman at all times.
I can still remember the day that Joe fell off the roof at Chelsea Naval Hospital and the day I came home from overseas and Joe was there. I will miss his jovial way, his unmistakable voice that spoke kind words.
Mr Joe Corbett will be missed by many especially his family and by my dad for he lost one of the closest friends he ever had.
The Amero family shares in your loss.
In sympathy,
Dan Amero

I have such wonderful memories of Joe during my days growing up on Shapley Ave. He was a great friend to my family and I always looked forward to his visits. He was a great support to my mom during her final years and always had such kind words of encouragement which helped her through many difficult times. Joe was also my dad's best friend and boating buddy. I will always remember Joe's jovial attitude and his great big smile. He was such a gentleman in every way. I am truly sorry that I cannot attend his services but please know that I will remember him fondly forever in my heart. Rest in peace, dear Joe.

We were sadened to hear of Joe's passing. He like so many of his generation laid the foundation for the advancement and betterment of our society. Simple, honest, a dedicated family man. Devotion to God and country, a quiet Patriot. May he rest in peace.
