Mr. Bogue,
Sir, I didn't know you but as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USMC during WW II with "The Old Breed"-1st Marine Division in the Pacific and North China. The 1st Mar Div fought some of the most bloodiest battles during the War-Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester on New Britain Island, Pelilieu;Okinawa as well as fighting Chinese Communist Guerillas and Bandits in North China after the War from 1945-1947. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. It was the history and accomplishments made by you and your fellow Marines back then that all of us Marines who followed in your footsteps have always tried to live up to.

Dear Shirley, Steve, Marilyn, Ralph and Gary,

I have very fond memories of Uncle Ralph, especially his always warm welcome at Bogue events. As a little kid in a very big extended family, a friendly face was a relief! And now that we know so much about the WWII horrors in the Pacific, it is all the more amazing to me that a kid who fought there as a teenage Marine, could later have such a kind smile.
Yet, perhaps he simply understood the precious gift of life. Of course, we don't know much about Heaven, but I like to imagine Uncle Ralph having a good laugh with my Mom. Peace to all of you in this difficult time.

Much love, Cousin Jack

Semper Fi Marine Bogue.
The Dept. of Ma. Marine Corp League thanks you for your service to God, our Country, and to our beloved Corps.
To Ralph's family we send our sympathies and our prayers on your loss and the loss of our Brother.
Ralph was a member of our Greatest Generation and he set the standard for all following Marines to follow. He is now with our Supreme Commandant and will serve with the same honor as he did on earth. Although his earthly being is no longer here his spirit lives within your hearts thru the memories he left you. May God bless you and be at your side thru this sorrowful time.
