Sincere condolences on the death of Elaine Tarlin Kaplan from a member of the Long Island, New York, side of the family. My name is Patricia Jean (Napolin) Barconey, and I am the daughter of Evelyn (Bashe) Napolin,
who was the daughter of Dora (Peizer) Bashe. My grandmother, Dora Bashe, was the sister of Pauline (Peizer) Tarlin, Harriet's mother. My grandmother, Dora, used to speak fondly of her "baby" sister Pauline, and Pauline's four children, who were teens and in their twenties when
the stories occurred. I know, from my grandma's stories, that the
Tarlin family knew and loved Dora, as I did. Dora (Peizer)
Bashe died in 1987 at the age of 97. I miss her. Although I did not know Harriet, I send my deepest sympathy to your family. It is
unfortunate that due to the distance between your home in Massachusetts and ours in
New York, that our two families never got to know each other. Peace be with you in your loss. Pat Barconey

Alan, Mr. Kaplan and family - So sorry to read of this. I have so many really fond memories of being at your house and how good to me your mother always was. Seems like it wasn't that long ago when I saw you and we were talking about my mother's passing. Take care.

Howie,Alan,Linda, Karen and Nancy:
A BIG BIG loss---Elaine was like no one else. Totally unique individual--Might have been the most unaffected, naturally NICE person I ever met.
I'm thinking about you guys. I know how much you loved eachother.
Hang in there--it has to be pretty tough.
Love, Andy C
