I have known Harold since about the time he and Virginia were married. She was a step-daughter of my aunt. We met from time to time over the years and always enjoyed his company. He will be missed.

My deepest condolences. Harold was a good worker and always had a smile on his face. He will be missed here at the college.

I am an Erie Community College teacher who would like to comment on my friend Harold. Anyone who interacted with Harold knows what a charming, clever and enlightened man he was. He was always gracious with a delightful sense of humor. How many of you know that Harold was a serious student of history? He was a wealth of information regarding Abraham Lincoln-including the President's cabinet. I know of no one else who could recite Lincoln's Supreme Court members, or his Secretary of the Treasury (Salmon Chase). I will miss Harold's great wit more than he will ever know. Quite simply, I will miss Harold, PERIOD. Susan Z.

I knew Harold from Erie Community College where he worked in the Duplicating Department. Harold was ALWAYS so nice and very helpful.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

Tracy Weiss
April 23, 2008
My name is Tracy Weiss and I live a few doors down from Harold. I am at home during the day, so I would often have wonderful conversations as Princess and Harold would walk past our house. Harold also was the best neighborhood friend of our black poodle "Blackie". I know Harold had a precious bond with Princess that was like a story book fairytale. He cared for her, and loved her like his child. When Princess told Harold she could no longer go on - the decision to put her down broke his heart. But I believe he heard her voice and truly did what was best. He called me,and we spoke by phone hours after this happenned, He was questioning if he did what was right. I told him how special his love was for her, and how I truly believe he did what was best. In honesty his smile changed that day -it was still there, no matter what the weather was like - no matter what he was going through. Harold was kind, and gentle, and continuously walking the neighborhood. We would offer him rides to the store - day or night- and he was alwasy grateful. But, it never seemed to surprise me as I could see Harold in his orange vest and yellow hat walking to the store -or wherever he was going, yet one more time.
I made him a few meals and tried to take care of him. He was just such a part of our hearts. I already miss him, and have been welling up with tears as I realize that I won't see that smiling kind man walking past our home. I miss you Harold (and Princess) and I can't wait to see you again in Heaven.
God bless,
Tracy (Don, Lauren, Hannah, and Zachary)
