He was a great man. I remember seeing him on a few special family occasions. He loved the Boston Red Sox and Notre Dame football. My Dad (his nephew) remembers going to games with him every year. May he rest in peace along with his parents and two sisters.

Thank you, Mr. Purtill, for being such a wonderful friend to our family through all these years. You have been with us in our happiest and saddest moments and my father loved you like a brother. Your wit and wisdom was like no other and we will always think of you when we see N.D. play. We will especially miss you when we go to Kelly's Country Store each year at Christmas and Easter!
