Peggy and Family,
Saddened at the news of your father's passing, I've had numerous opportunities to reflect on our association and friendship. We first met when I taught at Fosdick Masten and he arrived as the "New Sheriff"in town. His no nonsense approach toward structure and discipline belied the wonderfully warm side that I learned to appreciate as our relationship grew. I recall his meaningful insights into education, his forays into the world of politics, his strong backing of his teachers and his impartial dealings with students. We always knew where he stood and that position was invariably correct. He could say more with one hoist of those arched and bushy eyebrows than most said in an entire day. He gave me encouragement when I foundered and counsel when I was in need. He was and remains one of the finest administrators and gentlemen with whom I ever worked. Mostly I recall his love of family. I felt I knew Peggy long before I ever met her as Dad so often reveled in his favorite subject- family. So how appropriate that I would have occasion to work with Peggy at City Honors, to witness first hand the product of whom he so warmly spoke. Truly your father's daughter in so many ways you now remain the living memory of his nurturing goodness and his devoted love. No doubt, with eyebrow raised and paternal pride he smiles from beyond in the wonders he has left behind. May you and your family be always comforted in the warm embrace that your Dad/Husband shared with our lives.
Sincerely,
Jim Duggan

To All The Aschenbrenner Family
My sincere sympathy upon the loss of your dad. Marty was the best boss a girl could ask for, he made me feel just like family. I remember a suprise birthday party I had for him at City Hall. Your mother Gloria and Peggy came and helped me put it together, Marty was so suprised. I have many good memories of our days together.
My prayers are with you all and remember he's with the love of his life your mother Gloria.

To all the Aschenbrenner Family,
My sincere sympathy upon the loss of your husband and father. Those who taught at Kensington in the fall of 1976 will always remember your generousity for the use of your home
as a "rest stop" during the strike.
However, we remember all the Aschenbrenner kids and all of their
accomplishments. For me personally,
it was so interesting to teach Peggy at City Honors after my earlier association with all of you.
Martin was among the best administrators during my tenure in the Buffalo Public Schools.
My love and sympathy to all of you.

My deepest sympathies,
I was a student at The Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts during Mr. Aschenbrenner's days there. He was always tough, but fair... Traits that are not always present these days.
He will be missed.

Dear Dean, I am saddened by the loss of your dad. The last time we were together was at the Campus Summer School at Buff State when we were kids and you came over to my parents house on Parkdale for lunch, served by my grandmother. I never have forgotten you praying before we ate. (tomato soup and toasted cheese) Please know that we are praying for you and your family that God's hand of peace and mercy be watching over you. Please give a call when you can so we can get together and catch up. I have always regarded you as a lifelong friend God Bless, Art Macdonald,
