Frank and the Cooper football family,
What a wonderful man and coach! He was a personal mentor and confidant who had a passion for his family and THE GAME. He represents everything that is good in a person, a father and a football coach. We were blessed to have him share his time, knowledge and especially his friendship with our football program here at The College of New Jersey. He had the heart of a Lion and his legacy will be that he always made the effort to give back, especially to the younger coaches. He took great pride in watching not only his family grow up, but in watching former pupils become masters-including Coach Coop jr! Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, but our football program was fortunate to have Coach Doug Cooper as a friend and "assistant"!

Dear Brenda and family, I just read the beautiful obituary about Doug and saw his lovely face in the photograph. We all have lost a very sensitive, caring and loving individual who devoted his life to young athletes and other students needing a special friend. My heart is with you ...you have been there for him everyday in these very difficult days and please know that your friends are truly there for you at this
time of great sadness. Love

Dear Brenda,
Our hearts and prayers go out to you, the children, and grandchildren. Doug was both our beloved colleague and loyal friend. We truly appreciate that you came into his life as one of his greatest blessings - courageous as he, you were such a caring and devoted wife - especially throughout his long and terrible ordeal. God bless you with the strength you need and may He bring you comfort from the love you shared.
