HAMMER - Arthur E. Of Hamburg, NY, July 5, 2008, beloved husband of the late Earline E. (nee Safee) Hammer; dearest father of Richard W. (Alma), Mary Beth (Rogers L.) Doverspike and John E. (Alice); grandfather of Katherine (Ronald) Griffin, Ann Crain, Kenneth Doverspike, Daniel (Barbara) Doverspike, Edward Doverspike, Janine (William) Holden, Wesley Hammer, Marilyn Hammer and Lisa Hammer; great-grandfather of Adam, Casey, Brian, Lucas, Lynae, Matthew, Kathleen, Justin, Mariella and Sierra; brother of the late Richard (Dolores) Hammer and late Rosemary (late Robert) Schneider; also survived by nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the (Hamburg Chapel) JOHN J. KACZOR FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5453 Southwestern Blvd. (corner of Rogers Rd., 646-5555) where prayers will be said Tuesday morning at 9:15 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadettes Church at 10 oclock. Mr. Hammer was a member of Knights of Knights of St. John Commandery #150, a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus, an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII, a retired Electrician for The City of Buffalo and received The Knights of St. John Grand Noble Degree.
