Linda Hammer Demler
July 29, 2008
I just learned of Mr. Hammer's passing from my mom (Mrs. Dolores (William) Hammer) who read it online. I was very sorry to hear that. I had told her about meeting him at Lakewood last year through my mother-in-law Jane, who resides there. I was glad to finally meet him, as I had been hearing about him ever since Jane was at Rosewood. I had heard he was a very pleasant gentleman and I found that to be true. I had explained that my maiden name was Hammer, and he told me about the old Hammer brewery, which I wasn't aware of. Though I am not much of a geneologist, I would have liked to know his parents & grandparent's names to see if we had a common relative. I did write a letter to him last year explaining a little about myself. I had also met his son-in-law. I am glad for all of his loved ones that he lived a good long life. My husband Paul & I will miss seeing him at Lakewood. May God Bless you all, Linda (& Paul) Hammer Demler
