Safely Home
I am home in heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed.
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so kindly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.
And he came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still:
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth -
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh the rapture of that meeting,
Oh the joy to see you come!

To Dawn Marie, and Family, My deepest sympathy to you all. Dawn and I go back a long time. We were Kids growing up on the West Side. We were 9 or 10 years old. We played together and ran the streets of West Delavan and Congress, and Grant Street. We slept at each other's house, we shared pizza together every friday at Johns pizzaria on Grant Street. For a dollar you got a slice of pizza and a pop. We helped each other through every obstacle we crossed. We were the closest friends. Our family's enjoyed going to Beaver Island Park to picnic. Your mom made the best fried chicken, as my dad always said. He would tell my mom, Donna didnt you get the recipe? As the years passed we lost touch with one another, but you always remained in my heart and memory. Now you are walking once again beside everyone we have lost close to us. I just wish I could walk with you one more time, someday Dawn Marie, we will walk together again. Lynn Jamieson
