"Do Not Weep"
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there. I did not die.

-She will always be in your memories, in your heart. Try not to mourn her death but celebrate her life.

I found this poem i wrote a while back and i thought i would share it with you.

I sit here wondering
where you are
where you will be
because i need to tell you
how much I'm going to miss you
and how much you ment to me
and everyone you loved
but that can not stop me
from helping the others
dig up the ground
for tomorrow
you will be lowered down.

July 21, 2008

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dear Scott, Colleen and Thomas: My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to all of you. I never had the chance to meet all of Scott's family, since i met Scott years ago in Angola. My heart always ached when I read in the pennysaver about the fundraisers your family had for Janie. There aren't any words to describe how you all must feel. Very saddened and heart broken, I would say. We aren't meant to loose our precious gifts from God at such young ages. Janie will always be with you wherever you are. Always talk to her, and she will come to you. God Bless you and give you the strength to carry on. It will be a difficult task, but believe that someday you will begin to heal. Everything takes time. I am very sorry for your loss.

Dear Colleen,Scott and Thomas, I cannot begin to imagine the heartache you are going through right now. Wally always told me that God only takes the most precious flowers for his garden. When he chose Janie he picked the most magnificent flower he could find. She was such a beautiful and delightful child. I will never forget the day you stopped at da Vinci with her. She was sizing up the gift baskets as we loaded them into the car. She had the biggest smile on her face as she announced that she liked the Scoobey Doo movie basket. When you asked her why, because she didn't really like Scoobey Doo she replied with the biggest smile on her face "I LIKE CANDY". That told me right then and there what a bright young child she was.
Renee treasures the time she got to spend with Janie doing their art work at the camp Good Days functions. Both girls send their love and condolences. We love you and want you to know that we are here if you need us. God Bless you and give you stregnth. Love, Pat,Renee and Amanda Preston

PS. I asked Wally to take care of her in heaven for you.

Dear Scott, Our lives have touched in so many ways. You were there the night that Gary died and I have prayed for your little girl since I heard about her cancer. It is so hard to lose a child and there are no words that I can give to you to give you comfort except that she came into to your lives to give you sunshine and happiness and you will need to remember that you loved her and love is the greatest gift of all. Altho you have lost the physical part of your daughter, you will never ever lose the love and memories you have of her. You will carry them in your heart til the end of time. I send you love and peace and prayers for comfort. Love, Linda Forti

Little Janie has touched all of our lives. She will live in our hearts forever.

Her angels sat by her side, to bring her comfort as days went by, No one knew what each day would bring, For the angels knew her journey was about to begin. Day by day hour by hour the angels sang of the higher power. When that last breath came to be, She heard a sweet voice saying "Come to Me" . Her angels took her by the hands and lead her to the promised land.

May God bless each and every memory.

Colleen & Scott,
Colleen, I first met you last year when I first moved on Hewson rd. You were putting up ribbons on the mailboxes. I know all about the fight that Janie put up, I seen it first hand with my mom who had Ovarian cancer.I had spent alot of time making people aware of Ovarian cancer just as you did with Janie's cancer.I know it's hard to lose someone when their life just started..try to take comfort in the fact, all of you have friends here on Hewson rd. If you need something we are here. I remember when my husband , my son son Edward and I would take walks, Janie would stop whatever she was doing to come over to us and say "hi" to my son. Even though he's only 3 , it didn't matter to her. He would always get happy when he seen her. She always had a smile on her face. All of You have an Angel looking over you now. Sorry for your lose.

Colleen, Scott & Thomas,

You do not know me but I feel as if all of you were part of my family (I work with Kim). Janie has touched so many lives in her short time here that her memory will live forever. My daughter Morgan had her class make all the cards for Janie before your trip to Disney and is very sad to hear she has passed.
Janie is in the Lord's hands now and is happy and smiling. She will never be far away, all you need to do is close your eyes and she will be there.
May God bless all of you in your time of sorrow...

Dear Colleen, Scott, Ginny, John and family,

Colleen, I am a friend of your mom's You and I have crossed paths when you had Janie, when you brought her in for some radiation treatments at Roswell, and when your mom was getting treatment. You were such a good mom, both in the very first few days, as well as when you were bringing her in for her treatments. She was a beautiful baby and an adorable little girl. I remember when working with your mom (@ Sisters) hearing of all "Jane Kell's" (as your mom lovingly called her) milestones reached as a baby and toddler, and am so very sorry for your profound loss. There are so few words of comfort at this time. Please know you, your family and Janie are all in my prayers and will be indefinitely. She was as blessed to have you all as you were to have her. Your family is amazing. Lean on one another when you need to.
Love and Peace,
