Share memories of Red ? There are oh so many - where could one even begin? I can't imagine this place without him. He was such a fixture, such a character and so kind.

I remember Red insisting on helping me change an upper ball joint on my car in the parking lot of the Old Beech Inn. After telling me I was doing it all wrong he snatched the hammer and chisel right out of my hands and began a focused attack on the rivet's heads. He didn't miss once. Blow after repeated blow Red knocked the rivet's heads off into Tiorunda oblivion, but not without interruption. There was this huge Bumble Bee, the size of a golf ball, buzzin' round Red's big ears the entire time of his hammering. And each time the Bee came near Red would raise the hammer, call it terrible names and threaten it's life with language not fit for Sunday or any other day for that matter.

Red chiseled the head from the remaining rivet and asked if "I could take it from here", to which I replied "yes" and the last thing I remember is seeing Red chasing that Bee through the parking lot swinging the hammer and swearing. I miss you already Red. Goodbye. John Carroll
