Michael, I truly miss you my friend! Another memorial day comes and as it passes I think of you as always! You were the best battle buddy any solider could have asked for. We shared tears and laughs that no one would understand. We were room mates when we were shipped to ft hood. I still hold our memories, pictures, and items you gave me close to me. You will always be remembered. I tell my daughter stories and some jokes from time to time and look forward to telling my grand children all about the young man that was my best friend and I had the honor of serving with him! Looking through all the pictures it really brings me back. I remember how funny and energetic you were as a kid. This is just such a sad tragedy. I never knew this but my mom knows your mom from Wilson Farms. Your mom was working at the hospital when I had surgery. My thoughts and prayers go out to your mother. I grew up with Michael in Boy Scouts. At one point I was his Senior Patrol Leader and then one of his adult leaders. Even after scouting was over he then became one of my Brothers in Arms by going into the Army. Mike, you are truely free now. Fly like an Eagle. I miss you. You had such a tough path to follow, but you always had a smile for me. I loved having you out at the house with the other boys from 659. You were always a welcome addition. I was so proud of you, I missed you so much when we left NY. I always thought of you as one of my own. Take care until we meet again. Doni, I can't tell you how It breaks my heart to hear about Mike's passing. He had so much to give and we both knew that. He was taken way to young, I have to believe that God has a bigger plan for Mike. I feel so blessed to have known him and been able to share a small part of his life. He was the one who started the boys in 659 calling me (Miss Terri) I was so proud that he considered me an adopted Mom for a short time. I'll never forget him. I did not know your son, but I read his obituary and was overcome with the outpouring of love for this fine young man.
I know it is going to be a long hard road ahead without him and especially so young, but may the times and memories you have of him help you through these times. I have grown children of my own and grandkids, I cannot imagine losing anyone of them.

Although you left this earth way too soon, I feel so blessed and grateful that I had the privilege to know you.From the first day I met you I knew you were something special. Great athlete, smart, funny, and caring with a smile that could light up the room. Even though your teen years were kinda rough, I knew how much potential you had and was so proud of you when you decided to join the military. Even after your accident when I would visit you, your strength and humor amazed me.
I was truly inspired by this young man that was dealt such a hard blow by life but still kept such a positive outlook. Run free now Michael, with no restrictions and no pain.
