My grandmother was a special lady. She was fun, had a wonderful sense of humor and when talking to her she always listened and gave great advice. I admire her for the way she lived her life, the choices she made throughout and what she believed in. I hope I brought as much joy to her as she brought to me in my life. She was a real friend. I love and miss you Grams. Dylan.

Bette & Joanne,
At times like this, it is hard to know exaclty what to say. Death is never a welcomed visitor. Our brief encounters with Skip were always fun and bright. No doubt this is the way she would want us to think of her. Rember that twinkle in her eye, and keep it in yours. We extend our depest sympathy, and warm love. Love, Miki & Steve

My dearest, beautiful friend Joanne,
We've shared so much together over the decades that it pains me I couldn't be with you today. My memories of "us" would not be complete without memories of Skip. She always supported our ideas, plans and adventures and loved to hear our "stories" and of course was a strong spiritual force in our lives. She truly loved Jehovah and I know He yearns to call her name in Paradise. And I will yearn to greet her back with you as we share in seeing her young and healthy. I love you, dear friend and look forward to sharing millenniums with you.

To our dearest...Joanne, Bette, and family...We loved Skip. As a young woman, she was clearly a role model for me, sincere and reverent in her spirituality, yet fresh in her thinking and independent in her perspective, one of those very special and unique characters who brought heart and mind to all her life's endeavors, fun, funny, generous and kind. Bill says you just can't think of Skip without smiling. And my heart is more full of hope and joy for having known Skip. We look eagerly and with certainty to our happy reunion with all our dear ones... mothers, fathers, who loved what is right, and who by means of Jehovah's loving kindness will inherit the earth. Joanne, I was so saddened to hear, when my mother told me about your mom. My memories of Skip go back 50 years, and every memory is a good one. The worst part of getting older is having the people we grew up with, who we loved, die. May Jehovah be with you and your family in this time of sorrow. Warmest regards, Gene Singer

Joanne and Bette Ann, my dearest cousins, I was deeply saddened to hear of Aunt Skip's passing. What wonderful times we had growing up she was so nice to me and to the boys! I especially liked the times I got to have sleep overs with you, she was "lots of fun", as the kids would say. She always got us ready for our fun train rides. I wish I wasn't so far away so I could give you a hug. Talk soon, love Peggy Jo, Jim, Mary and Meghan McLane

My memories of Skip go back to when I was very young when Bette and I became inseparable. The O'Briens were an extension of my family. I loved Skip for her spunk and energy--she often made us laugh just by her actions or by the things that she said, even though she wasn't meaning to be humorous. She will be missed, but we look forward to seeing her again in Jehovah's New System when she and all those that we loved who have fallen asleep in death will be resurrected to a life of peace, happiness and perfect health. My love to all, especially my dearest friend, Bette.

My Grandma Skip was so very dear to me. I will truly miss her. She was fun and hip and smart for a grandma. I always loved going to her house as a kid. She also gave great advice but without ever being pushy or negative, which made her wise. I look forward to spending time with her in the new system. I want my young daughter to know her and meet her and love her as I do. Grandma, I will really really miss you! You were there at all my important life events, and now it's sad you are not here! Love Always, Christine

I loved "Skip". She was such a dear person and GREAT friend of my grandma, Mae Haley. We had lots of great times together....lunches at George's and the Water Valley. She and my gram enjoyed one another very much and shared many sunny afternoons on Skip's back patio...right up until last summer 2007. I am glad that I saw Skip one last time at my gram's memorial service on 5/31/08. I know that her and my Gram will be together again someday. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family and friends. My daughter, Jessica, knows Sidney from school and was sorry to hear about Skip's passing as well.
