Dear Mrs. Kaefer & boys:
Our family was very saddened to hear of Chuck's passing. He had such a strong presence in our community in so many ways - member of the fire department, Town Councilman, member of the County Youth Board and the backbone of the early years of youth recreation programming in our town, a familiar face doing his two mile walk in the mornings, smiling and waving to folks on their way to work, the well-mown yard (despite that steep front lawn), and all of the hard work put in for several years in developing Pine Tree Park and the ball diamonds with Dad. We really appreciate having so much of his WWII memoribilia to display at the town museum, and have been grateful to him for his service to his country and his hometown. We are fortunate to have some of his WWII recollections preserved on tape.
I have many memories about his love for baseball, the ice skating and hockey on the creek, and his connection to everyone in town.
He will be greatly missed.

Dear Rena and Family,
My sincere sympathy on the passing of your husband and father. I have fond memories of Mr. Kaefer down on the creek ice skating. He would always make sure it was shoveled off so that we could all skate on smooth ice.
Cowlesville will surely miss him.
Sincerely,
Marge (Lemke) Winney

Dear Rena & Family,
My sincere condolences on the death of your husband and father. I remember Chuck with great fondness. I am from the Cowlesville area all my life, moved to Akron almost 4 years ago to be closer to my youngest daughter.
Chuck was very helpful to me years ago when I coached a girl's softball team and we visited a lot when we would sit and watch the ball games up at the Cowlesville & Bennington Town Park on County Line Rd. He was a great man, very opinioned of course, but a great man and he truly loved his baseball. It must be that you boys played ball at one time.
May God comfort each of you in this loss and I hope the memories you have will far outweigh your loss.
