Brenda Picazo Obituary

PICAZO - Brenda Grace (nee Markley) December 5, 1946 - August 22, 2008 of Springville, New York, died peacefully in Buffalo General Hospital on Friday morning, August 22, 2008, of pneumonia and related complications. She was 61. Born December 5th, 1946, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to Ruth Irene (Kemmerer) Markley and the late Artis Emerson Markley, Brenda is survived by Esteban, her husband of 35 years, sons Steven David, of Rochester, New York, and Andrew Jon, of Buffalo, New York, and her mother Ruth Markley, of Allentown, Pennsylvania. She also is survived by a niece, Jessica Markley, of Austin, Texas, a nephew, Jonathan Markley, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jennifer Markley, of Austin, Texas, the children and widow of her brother, the late David J. Markley of Austin, Texas. With her husband, Esteban, they performed as Loves Journey, playing piano and guitar with vocal duets. Brendas voice and keyboard artistry are featured on the Loves Journey CD recording faith building, (www.LovesJourney.com). Friends and family of Brenda Picazo will gather at the Springville First United Methodist Church at 474 East Main Street in Springville, New York, 14141 for a memorial service at 2 oclock PM on 20 September 2008. In lieu of flowers, please direct any gifts of remembrance on Brendas behalf to the Gideons International or the Springville First United Methodist Church building fund. Mrs. Picazo was not only my organ teacher, she was a mentor. Her nurturing and unconditional acceptance always meant so much to me. She opened up her arms to me in my teen years, and there couldn't have been a gentler person to be hugged by.
