J. Sheedy Obituary

SHEEDY - J. Paul Age 93, of Tallahassee, FL, died Sunday September 21 in Tallahassee. Services were held this past week a Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tallahassee. Memorial contributions may be made to: Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308 or Good Shepherd Building Fund, 4665 Thomasville Rd, Tallahassee, Fl, 32309. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a former resident of Snyder and Harris Hill, Mr. Sheedy moved to Tallahassee in 1978 from Buffalo, New York. He was a 1932 graduate of Amherst Academy and graduated from Notre Dame University in 1937. He was a past Scout Master of Troop 65 in Snyder, was a former member of the Snyder Volunteer Fire Department and was also a former member of Brookfield Country Club. Survivors include his son Dr. J. Brian Sheedy ( wife Wende) of Tallahassee; two daughters, Barbara S. Anderson ( husband Robert) of Clarence, NY and Paula M. Wolfe (husband Timothy) Tallahassee; a brother, Dr. K. Joseph Sheedy of Amherst, NY; a sister, Imelda Clauss of Clearwater; six grandchildren, Robert S. Anderson of Tallahassee,, William Paul Anderson of Akron, NY Michael B. Sheedy of Tallahassee, Kelly M. Lawrence of Galt, California, Kiera S. Camron of Tallahassee and Sarah A. Elliott of Sacramento, California; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Sheedy was preceded in death in 2004 by his wife Marie.

My grandpa Paul ("Grampy") was one of the most important people in my life. He and Grandma were my role models growing up - they taught me to be honest, hard working, and loving. Grandpa was always more like a dad to me and one of my best friends. My memories are deep and rich and I will always cherish them.
