I was saddened to read in the church bulletin that Mr. Korta had passed away. Although I did not know him very well it was evident that he was a kind and caring man of strong faith. He would always greet my family in church with lovely compliments and a smile while encouraging our participation in parish events. Mr. Korta and his family will remain in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Stacey and Stevie,
I am so very sorry to hear of Steve's death. I'm sure that you will see very many people over the next few days, as Steve had so very many friends. I know of no one who had any but the most complimentary and warm and caring feelings for him. He will be missed by all, and except for the consolation that he is now in a place to cheer for you, his absence will be large in your lives.
Since I cannot be there with you, I have a prayer for Steve, as well as one for you.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Schmitt

Steve,

All of your colleagues in the industry are saddened by your loss. The stories that you told of your father's AA experiences helped us to know him a bit. His love of aviation is reflected through you.

Dear Stacey and Steve,
My thoughts are with you during this very difficult time. I was afraid that this would happen while I was away on my pilgrimage. Nevertheless, on Saturday to coincide with the funeral Mass I will celebrate a Mass here in Medjugorje for the peaceful repose of Steve's soul. He was a great man and a wonderful parishioner! I will miss him.

I met Steve 42 years ago when we were both working for American Airlines in the old Statler Hilton Hotel. He was a marvelous man and respected by all who met him. My condolences to the family.

Dear Mrs. Korta and Steve,

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved husband and father. He was a good man. I've not seen him for many years, but my memories of him will be with me for a long time. Please know you are all in my prayers. Having lost my dad almost 13 years ago, my family understands your pain. You will always miss him but the pain will turn to sweet memories as time passes. And someday, you will all be together again.

I first met Mr. Korta about three years ago when I began working as a teller at Bank of America in Williamsville. Whenever Mr. Korta walked through the doors, he always had a big smile on his face, which immediately made me smile. He never had anything other than pleasant words for me, and he quickly became one of my favorite people to serve at the bank. Mr. Korta enjoyed collecting the State Quarters, I believe he may have been saving them for his grandchildren. Whenever we received a new shipment of the quarters, he was the first person on my list to call. "It's awfully nice of you to call and let me know, Jessica", is what he would always say to me...It was such a simple thing, but I knew how much it meant to him for me to take the couple minutes to call him. When I took a different position at the bank and was moved to the West Seneca location, I was sad and thought that I might not see Mr. Korta as often. however, I still called him to inform him when we were getting in new quarters. He actually drove all the way out to West Seneca to pick up his quarters and pay me a visit. It meant SO much to me! Although i didn't know Mr. Korta extremely well or for very long, each time I saw him in the bank, or spoke to him over the phone was a pleasure. He had such a comforting demeanour and I could tell he had a heart of gold. My deepest sympathies go out to his family. I know that I will never forget you, Mr. Korta. Thank you for all the smiles you have brought to me during my time at Bank of America.
