Robert Ensminger Obituary

ENSMINGER - Robert L. Age 84, of Olcott, NY, and Palmetto, FL, October 7, 2008 in Lockport Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Beloved father of David W. Ensminger of Jamestown, Nancy L. (Dennis) Baer of North Tonawanda, Robert L. Ensminger of Lockport, Becky Ensminger of Tonawanda and Kathleen Becker of North Tonawanda; grandfather of eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother of Allen Ensminger of North Tonawanda, LaVerne Ensminger of Texas and the late Dorothy Root; uncle of several nieces and nephews. Robert was a WW II Veteran and served with B Company, 745th Tank Division, he received the Purple Heart while serving in Europe. He was a past Commander of American Legion Wheatfield #1451, a member of the B. Leo Dolan Post #50. From 1971 to 1985 he served as Direcetor of the Niagara County Veterans Service Agency. He also served as a Red Cross volunteer. Friends may call at the FRETTHOLD FUNERAL HOME INC., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30 AM., the Rev. Charles Hobbs will officiate. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Guest register available at frettholdfuneralhome.com
