Chief Zimmerman will always be "The Chief" of Amherst PD regardless of how many follow in his footsteps. His legacy for developing APD into a first class law enforcement agency will continue for many years to come. It was an honor to be a member of APD under his tutelage.

My sincerest condolences to the family of Chief Zimmerman. I served under him until he retired. He was truly a gentleman; what I would call a Chief's "Chief". May God bless him and the entire family. He will surely be missed.
