To David, Patricia Ann, Kathleen and Wayne, and all others in the King Family,
I just wanted to write and say that today's funeral mass for your mom was one of the nicest tributes that a babcie could have had.
"The Memories of Grandma" certainly brought about some of my own memories of your mom. Like, the first time I entered your house in 1960, to see Dave, and heard someone say, "what's your name?" I looked up, saw your mom, and replied, "Ed Drabczyk." She then spoke my last name in polish, smiled, and said, "take your shoes off, Eddie."
I never figured out where the pop was kept, but, do remember some Friday nights at your house, eating popped corn and watching, I think... 77 Sunset Strip.
Whenever I heard her speaking polish through the side door when we were out in your driveway, I sensed that I'd better pay close attention, also knowing knowing that your mom had a good heart.
It was good to talk to David and Patty, this morning. Sorry I missed Kathleen and Wayne. My guess is, however, that Wayne understandably would not remember me. I think he may have been all of 5 years old when we moved from the neighborhood.
Even though our paths have not crossed very often over the years, it's still nice to have friends like you.
My best to you all, especially during the days to come.
Ed.
