WILCOX - Diane M. (Incandela) October 23, 2008; beloved wife of Philip G.; dear mother of Nicole M. and Kara J.; daughter of Estelle and the late Joseph Incandela; sister of Deborah A. Hughes. Friends may call Sunday only 4-8 PM at the DENGLER & ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME, 8630 Transit Rd., East Amherst (1 mile north of Maple, just past Klein Rd.). Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday from Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 5441 Tonawanda Creek Rd., at 10:00 AM. Diane quickly turned from patient to counselor for a long list of new and frightened patients during her years of chemotherapy treatments, offering hope, friendship, and comfort to all she met. Her smile always lit up a room and she brought joy, love and inspiration to all her family and friends. Online tributes may be sent to www.mem.com

Phil, Nicole and Kara,
There are no words to express my deepest sorrow of losing the most energetic and inspirational patient I have ever known. I met Diane during one of her first visits to the Infusion Center. As the many years passed, she continued to remain my absolute favorite. We shared laughter (and tears) together. Through the past 10 years, I have seen the girls grow and reach every milestone. I know her biggest desire to continue The Fight, was to be here for you two
girls. Although she won't be here (physically) for all the rest of the milestones she so deeply wished to share with you both, I know that her spirit will be with you forever as you grow into adulthood. May you always carry that with you and lean to that in your times of need. Phil, I grant you peace in the days, months and years ahead and know that you were the greatest husband that she could have ever had. I love her unforgettable smile. I will forever think of her, especially when I put the mouth guard and teeth whiteners in!!!!! When people ask if it difficult to work with cancer patients, I think of the people like Diane and how much better my life is for having known her. That is why we do what we do!!! She is the reason we do what we do!!!
Although there is sorrow, I know that had it not been for this disease, I would have possibly never had known her. So for this, I am deeply thankful.
God Bless your all.
