John Oleszak Obituary

OLESZAK - John L. October 23, 2008; husband of the late Frances Oleszak; step-father of Gail (late Anthony) Ricotta and the late Donna Crater; also survived by several step-grandchildren; brother of Stephania (late Arthur) Basinski; uncle of Beverly Deinhart, Alan (Barbara) Basinski; great-uncle of Amy (Jason) Brudz, Melissa Basinski; special friend of Dale Belz, Russ Barone, Mike Mucyn; also his Seabee Comrades Roland Swanson, Kenneth Wendt and Richard Lindner. John served in the Pacific Theater ending in China during WW II 1944-1946; member of the Navy Seabee Veterans of America, Island X36, X11, X8 and X5, member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #5861 after service worked for General Motors as a electrician for 29½ years and a member of UAW Local #424. Family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Elderwood Village and a special thanks and appreciation to the staff on Unit 2 at the Elderwood Health Care Facility for their comfort and undying support. No prior visitation. A memorial service to be held at the BARRON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME INC., 3025 William St., near Union Rd., Cheektowaga, Wednesday, October 29 at 11 AM.
