Dear Joe, Claire and Family; I will always remember your Mom having a smile for me, a painting in the works, and words that rang with wisdom (but in a humorous way). My thoughts are with you at this time and I hope that you are feeling the peace that she now must know.

A memory I will always have of Aunt Bette is of our wedding invitation, which she artistically decopaged on wood for us, and after 35 years of marriage, we still have it hanging on the wall! It is such a beautiful memory of her and our wedding, as well. Our heartfelt sympathies to the family.

Dear Liz & Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your dear mom's passing. She was a beautiful lady and never looked her age. I guess you inherited her aging genes. I am so sorry that I cannot be with you tomorrow (as you were with me all the time). in any event you are in my thoughts and prayers as is your beloved mom who suffered more than she deserved. She raised a wonderful family and I know that her being at peace will give you peace and that memories of better time and faith will see you and all through this yet again difficult time.
Love ya!

Aunt Bette was one of the neatest people to ever grace our family. She and Wally were always the ones we couldn't wait to see at the holidays. She and I had a closeness regarding all of her geneology work for the family and I will always cherish the painting she gave me of the family farm in Germany. I'm so glad that Joe helped us meet with Bette last year although I think she may have thought I was my Dad, her Brother Wayne. The world has truly lost a "one-of-a-kind" person with her passing. The whole family is in our prayers. Wally, Wayne, Marian and Don are all greeting her while we mourn along with Ed and Elsie.

To all my cousins.....

I have to agree with my brother Pete and sister Barb, Aunt Betty was my favorite Aunt as well!! I have so many memories of her and especially how sweet she always was to everyone. I will never forget how she would always grab your cheeks and give you a big kiss and smile that warm, beautiful, smile of hers. My wife Betsy, daughter Madison and I pass along our heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathy to our sweet Aunt Bette's family!!! May God be with you as you go through this difficult time!!

Mrs. May was a beautiful lovely lady who I will miss terribly. Sue took such good care of her Mom giving her love, kisses, treats, and lots of special time together.

Sue kept her promise to be with her Mom when the time came to let her leave us to join Mr. May up in Heaven. If you can hear me Mrs. May, thank you for giving me my Silver Sister Sue who loved you more than words can ever say!

Love,

Peter Blake

To the May family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at the passing of your mom. I have such warm and wonderful memmories of the May's. Mrs May was such a special and loving woman. I remember when she dragged me to one of her art classes that she took at Amherst H.S. Rest assured that your mom will be remembered in my prayers . God bless.

You were absolutely my favorite aunt. Your artistic ability inspired me in my musical pursuits more than you know. Please watch over me and guide my hands whenever I play.
Your nephew,
Peter

To my cousins..... Your mom - my Aunt Bette was truly a wonderful woman, mother, sister, aunt, wife and friend to us. I'll never forget her warm loving ways when I would come to stay overnight with MaryAnn when I was young. Your mom made the best ice tea up at the cottage in Canada. And taught us how to make our own doll houses from cardboard boxes and wallpaper sampler books. I can still hear her calling me.... "Barbie Jo"! Fond memories were with me all last night when Cousin Judy - Sister Marian called me to tell me. Aunt Bette was a wonderful artist, and I enjoyed her art work. My daughter, Maggie, has a large picture of a sail boat Bette painted in her office at Boston Univerity- it is Maggie's favorite. I'm sorry we didn't get to see your mom at the nursing home much, but I'm taking care of mom at home and brother at home, and it's hard getting her out and about at her age. I'll never forget Aunt Bette! She was my favorite aunt.
