Dear John, Bob & I attended your baptism class in your living room in 1984 when we lived on Elmhurst Rd. in Lakeview. I believe it was Jeannine who also "sat" for our sons, Rob & Andy (now 30 & 24 years old). I remember your family as being so loving and generous. A friend of mine from Elmhurst, Laurie Emmick, told me about Pat's passing. I just couldn't believe it! I am sure she is rejoicing with the saints & angels even as you are missing her tremendously. Many blessings to your beautiful family.

Pat and John opened their home and hearts to me several years ago. For however brief a time it seems now, it was a time I have never and will never forget. Although time has faded some memories, the love and support given to me at such a vulnerable and difficult time in my life has left a lasting impression in my heart. My deepest sympathies to the Garra family and all those who had the pleasure of having their lives touched by Pat. We shall all mourn the loss of such a truly loving and caring soul.

Pat was always there for her children...that's how I got to know her. She took Tyler to Girl Scouts when Jody was ill. I manage Fowler's Chocolates in Hamburg and Pat would come in around the holidays and I would make up special chocolate packages for all her loved ones. I know she will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

John,
I was so sorry to hear about Pat.She was a wonderful person and a great teacher. I remember when I first met Pat she was my son Bob's kindergarten teacher, she was a joy to the kids and all the Moms , our field trip to cheasnut ridge she had all of us making snow angels after seeing Santa. I just saw Pat over the summer at tops and she said she was praying for me for the loss of Bob. She was an angel in all our lives . Cherish all your memories and know that shes always watching over you. She's an angel in Gods care now.

Mr. Garra & Family
Mrs. Garra was one of the nicest people I had the pleasure of knowing my whole life. I remember our families spending time together and she was always a ray of light & joy. She will be greatly missed by so many people, but her spirit & kindness lives on in so many of us. She always made everyone feel good about themselves & we were honored to be a part of her life.
We are with you always.

Dear John,
Our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to you and your children. My husband, Dan and myself are members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. We were on a couple of committees at church with Pat. She was a beautiful and loving human being. She always had something kind to say. She is truly a servant of God. Although she is at peace with the Lord, she will be missed. Our prayers are with you, and your family.

My love and prayers go out to John, and to all of the family. I'm sad for your loss, and for how Pat will be missed in the community. Besides being a good friend, Pat has been my inspiration for years. She was one of the most giving and loving people I've ever met. I trust that her generous, loving spirit will live on through her family, and through all of us who knew her. I will try to live out what Pat taught me by her example: Listen...Love....Never Stop Giving!

Patty, I know you are embraced in angels arms, but know we will truly miss you. I so admired you for the person you were, so intelligent. The wife to John. The incredible loving and caring mom. That gentle touch, the spark that kept our 4th of July picnics so unique, and so memorable.

To the Garra Family,
We're so sorry to hear of the loss of Pat. Please know that she is no longer in any pain and is now your guardian angel. If there is anything that we can do, please let us know.
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
