Leroy Webber Obituary

WEBBER-Leroy J. September 1, 2007, age 88, of North Tonawanda, NY, formerly of Liverpool, NY, beloved husband of Mary (Nee Hogan); dearest mother of Sandra (Gary) Eades of North Tonawanda, Scott (Carrie) Webber of North Tonawanda and the late Martin Webber; grandmother of Michelle Eades and Ryan Webber, also of North Tonawanda; brother of Bette Van Patten of Mount Bethel, PA, Dorothy Blackmore of Verona, NY and the late Doris Harrington. Born in Cedarvale, NY, he served in World War II for 33 months as a Staff Sergeant in the 5th US Army Air Force, 478th Service Squadron in the South Pacific. He was awarded three Bronze Stars. When he returned stateside, he was stationed at Langley Field, VA. He retired as an electrician from General Motors in Syracuse with 30 years service. He also maintained a small family farm in Baldwinsville. While living in Liverpool, he attended Christ the King Catholic Church; His pastimes included bowling and horseshoes. He was a devoted New York Yankees fan and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. He will always be remembered as a wonderful neighbor who enjoyed helping others. The family will have no visitation. Funeral services will be held privately. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery in Syracuse. Arrangements were made by the AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC. Scott, I read about your father in Carol McNeil's email. I am very sorry to hear about his passing. I knew your father while I worked in Maintenance and of course in other are parts of GM Syracuse.
