Rita was my next door neighbor for 42 years.
She was a good woman who intensly loved her children more than anything in the world. Her oldest son, Daniel, named after his father,(Corky) died when he was 35. This, of course, was a huge tragedy. But she still had her other son, Donald, who was a great comfort and devoted son to her. He faithfully stayed by her side for all the rest of the years of her life.
She had many friends and worked hard all her life. She was a good friend and neighbor. I will never forget her.

You've always given the most,
and close to your heart you've kept the lord of hosts,
You're ring worn when you were buried was made of aged copper and stone,
but awaiting a great woman as you are, is a golden home, made of shiny diamonds and a silver throne.
The lord remembers all the times you helped weary hearts and bruised hands such as mine,
the great creator has a record of the times you have cried, for all the loved ones you lost along the way, some who tragically died.
I will always love you and will see you someday ...

All I can express about Rita is, she was a beautiful person, both inside and out. A wiser person couldn't fill her shoes. I have had the pleasure of being her daughter-in law and her friend for so many years. She was always there for me, and outside of my dad, who passed away 4 short months ago, I have so much sadness, for I will miss her ,as much as I would miss a Mother. I can certainly brag to anyone who knew her the joy she had for her Grandchildren, Don and Shannon, and for her Great-Grandchild, Kenny. I will miss all the Holidays and Birthdays we shared. Whenever I look up in the sky and see a bright shiny star, I will know it is her giving us a sign that she is watching over us. I will always be thinking of you Gram, God surely made you His Saint. With Love and prayers,
Maureen
