To Mrs. Lewis, Bev, Ward and Ms. Sarah Lewis,
Mr. Lewis for as long as I can remember has been a staple in the community and his church. As a child, I can remember what a joy it was to listen and watch him sing. It was apparent even then that it was a joy for him to share his great gift with those around him.
Although I have been gone from Buffalo for over 15 years now, whenever I came home to visit, I almost always would have the opportunity to see Mr. Lewis in the back hall after church. I would greet him with a big hug and a big hello, and he always returned it.
I pray for your family that God will grant you peace to deal with this huge loss to your family circle. May you find comfort in the fact that his suffering has ended and he is now at peace and has been granted a well deserved rest. His spirit lives on in all of you and will continue to live on in Bev and Ward’s children and their children and so on. As Mr. Lewis often sang his "living will not be in vain".

He now rests peacefully in the arms of our mighty Saviour. Treasure the warm memories and joys your family shared. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Aunt Vi, Beverly,Ward,& Linda:
Our hearts join yours in missing and loving a very special man. Uncle Wardell loved the Lord, was funny, caring and our songbird. His voice was a gift that he shared thousands of times all over the City of Buffalo, around New York State and the U.S. We miss him, but he's singing to Jesus, now.
