In Memory Of
Those who passed of dread disease,
Sooner, later, all by chance
Resting now beneath the trees
Those whose lives were taken by
Twisted, angry hands and minds
Leaving us to moan and sigh
Those who took themselves away
In a des'prate state of being
On a dark, dark, stormy day
Those whose bodies went to war
Serving well on distant soil
carried home to give no more
Those that died in random ways
Unexplained by any man
Some by night and some by day
Those who reached the end of life
Giving, loving, smiling wide
Gone through aging, peaceful strife.
