Although I only had the Pleasure of knowing the greatest man that ever Lived, for a short while.His Love,Kindness & Humour, Will Live on through the years.It is an Honor to have called Him Dad.
I am not Gifted with words,
So I will leave the verse from the Remembrance Card. To share with those unable to attend the Service for Dad. For it Truely sums up Dads last days with us.
God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be
He closed His arms around you
And whispered. "Come to Me"
In tears we saw you sinking
We watched you fade away
Our hearts were almost broken
You fought so hard to stay
But when we saw you sleeping
So peacefully from pain
We could not wish you back
To suffer so again
So keep Your arms around him,Lord,
and give him special care
Make up for all that he suffered
And all that seemed unfair.
To Mom, Ray, & the Love of my Life Dan. Remember you are Loved by many
& we are all here.
It just takes a "word".
For Dad is now truely the
"Keeper of the Stars"
So as Dad would want us all to do
"Live Laugh & Love"
" Merry Christmas To All"
It was Dad's favorite time of year
So Hold It Well

Dear Ray, Mindy & Aggie -
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of great loss. Ray was a very special, loving, and caring person. We will never forget how he took care of our Dad, Arnold Myers, or how he helped take care of his sister, Dorothy. He gave unselfishly of his time and seemed to truly enjoy helping everyone. We loved his sense of humor and will always remember him. Ray was truly a great man and he will be missed by many people.

I am glad that I got the chance to meet your Dad when he was alive and well. He was very personable and I felt relaxed when talking with him. You always spoke so fondly and lovingly of your Dad. Ray & family,
At this time of your loss remember that your dad, husband, grandfather or simply friend is in a much better place. His great pain and suffering have come to an end and he is now enjoying his rewards in Heaven.
The words I add below were given to me on the loss of my grandmother, and then again when my own dad passed. They have brought me comfort and peace whenever I read them(Every day). I hope that they can bring you the same.
Miss me but let me go
When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not for long and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take and each must go alone,
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan, a step on the road to home.

To one and all who come here, know I present for the final time THE MAN! If you've gotten this far, you KNOW, so I need say nothing more, but THANKS...for your kind comforting thoughts...for your prayers for us all in this very hard transition...for the love he inspired and with which we know you now post here.
Of course...it's ME...so saying nothing more is hardly an option (Praise God for the humor that gets us through!!!):
I thought I had felt the worst I could, when I wrote the poem I’ll end with here…”Selfish Tears”…to eulogize my beloved mother back in ’89; I was wrong…
Today I feel…again…the need…
a need for “Selfish Tears”!
But more tempered, this time,
by having shared an extra 18 years!
My mom was gone so young…
so much left we’d yet to do…
While my whole life’s been full of this wonderful man
I’m here to hold up to you!
Hold him up for all the good
that was inherent in his way…
The loving, caring style he had
for greeting…living…every single day!
His life was not so bountiful…
on a scale of one-to-ten!
But, with things harder to measure,
he was blessed more than most men!
Two loving and beloved wives…
true love’s fortune found him twice…
And after 37 years of only 2 sons,
4 new daughters was also nice!
He commanded respect from everyone…
no matter where he went…
With a steady, good-tempered manner…
and a pouch full of smiles well spent!
A dependable friend you could count on,
no matter the cost or task…
If he was able to help at all,
you’d need do no more than just ask!
And, when it came time to celebrate,
you could bet he’d be there for that, too…
He was blessed with a heart that left you no doubt
how happy he was for YOU!
So I’m sure he’s earned some special wings,
the way he’s lived his years…
But I have to be honest, no matter all this,
I will still cry my “Selfish Tears”:
SELFISH TEARS
(I eulogize my beloved mother - March, 1989)
Today we cry...must admit they're selfish tears.
You see...our faith assures your journey's done.
But it's not for you we mourn, at all, my dear;
It's for those of us you've left behind...alone!!!
We share your joy...share your happiness at rest,
Your painful fears now for forever stilled.
You've fought the good fight, passed the final test,
But you've left behind a hole that can't be filled!!!
So, until we each rejoin you some someday,
And, while your memory buoys us through those years,
We'll miss you...but continue on our way,
And, from time to time, we'll cry our selfish tears!!!

Father God, we praise You for the Grace by which the world was granted the presence of this loving man for nearly 80 years! See him safely home, dear God, reunited with all those he's lost over his years, now for all time. And let them know, we'll be joinin' the party soon (Soon bein' a relative term! ;-) )
