To only have memories to hold onto is so hard. Life doesn't seem fair at times. Of the three children that I have my father only was able to meet one, John Michael. He was able to see him twice, the first time at 7 months and then again about a year later. In the last 6 months or so John Michael has asked so much about my dad and we called him a lot so that John Michael could say hi. He was always asking how Grandpa was. The twins never did get the blessing of having there Grandpa hug or kiss them. They never were able to look into his eyes and see the love that he had for them, my father loved my children. Amazing how a Grandfather loves even without ever holding a child. How parents and grandparents love there children and what they will do for them amazes me!! My father would have just adored them all if we lived closer. But the miles between us didn't allow it.

My Uncle Joe told me that my father was very proud of me and the life that I have built with and for my wife and children. I was told that I put joy into his heart and that he talked about me and my family all the time and he loved us so. What a gift to hold onto. It is comforting to know that he truly understood that although we were so far apart, I loved him so much and that through it all, he meant the world to me!!

I don't know what my dad is doing now, but it's good. I have Mark back in my life now and I think that Dad had something to do with it. Thanks Dad! I owe you.

I will never forget you. Never stop loving you. I won't let your grandchildren not know you. I will tell them all I know about you and you will live on to my children through me.

My friend, My father ... as long as I keep you alive in my heart you will live on. You will not be forgotten. I love you Dad!

Your loving son,
