Greta C. Powers

POWERS-Greta C. (Clear) Of Lackawanna, died Friday, November 16, 2007, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph B. Powers, her high school sweetheart. She was born November 27, 1929 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, the daughter of the late James W. Clear and Min (Quesnell) Clear. Mrs. Powers was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Victory Basilica where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, volunteered with the Elementary School Mother's Club, was a Catechist for C.C.D. and a member of the Parish Council. She was also an active member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas-Court Msgr. Baker. Mrs. Powers is survived by her four daughters, Christine (Hugh) Brown, Kathleen (Thomas) Balcarczyk, Maureen O'Hara and Eileen (James) Schultz; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation Sunday 2-7 PM at THE NORMAN E. GANNON & SONS, INC. FUNERAL HOME, 1075 Ridge Rd., Lackawanna (824-4000) where services will be held Monday at 9:45 AM and at Our Lady of Victory Basilica at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
