Our deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Ed Russo. I loved his books about the West Side and was one of the "home" kids who smelled like Fels Napha soap. We also were school mates at School 3 and Grover Cleveland. His books paint a wonderful picture of the West Side Community as it used to be and brought pleasure and happy memories to many people. We could use more like him in this world.

Dear Toni & your special family,

Iam so sorry to hear about Eddie, but remembering what a special couple you were it brings back memories of the love and laughter
you two had that I never saw in any others. I was so happy to hear his voice when he called Mary Ann's house & we talked for quite awhile. His books were so beautiful and such a part of who he really was and his love for his family and others had me in tears (happy tears). I think of you all often and wish I had kept in touch with you more, I know Joe and Eddie did and loved each other very much. My thoughts and prayers are with you Toni. All my love,

Aunt Toni,

I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Eddie passing. My prayers are with the entire family, and always will be.
Everyone who knew Uncle Eddie knew what a wonderful respected man he is, Loving, caring and so very thoughtful of everyone, we will all miss him greatly, but will always be able to hold on to the captivating memories, He will always remain in our hearts, Like Frank Sinatra sang, I Did It My Way, one could say Uncle Eddie did it his way "The Best Way".

Dear Cousins: It is with sadness that I read of the
passing of my dear cousin Tony's son Eddy. It brings tears to my eyes as I think of my childhood and how I loved going to Tony's house and visiting with Tony, Carrie and their children. Tony and my father who was his Uncle Charlie LaRusso were very close. Tony took me to see Santa Claus when I was little. I read Sonny's book on Buffalo and enjoyed it so much. May God Bless you all. Love, Antoinette LaRusso Clark

To Toni & all of Ed's family, I had the honor of knowing Ed for a few short years and I enjoyed learning from him & listening to him & sharing a coffee after driving kids to school. We lost touch these last couple of years but I am forever grateful to have know Ed & having had his friendship. May God bless you all.

Uncle Eddie was the most wonderful man and such a special person. He was always smiling and told great stories about growing up in the old neighborhood. He was not only a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, but also a wonderful friend. I know my father thought of Uncle Eddie as another brother and loved him dearly, just as we all did. He will be sadly missed, but will live forever in our memories.

I can only hope to be half the person he was. Mr. Russso lived his life to the fullest and he had something nice to say to everyone he met. He was a proud man. You will be missed.

Karen, the last thing your Dad wrote in his book was "When you come to pay your last respects, do not cry, just return one of my smiles." We are sending tons of smiles back to him (and to you and your family...) and we are grateful that we had a chance to know him.
