Grandpa Jerry was extremely devoted to his family. I know he loved all of us very much, and was so happy to be able to meet his great grandson (Isaac). He would always joke about the telephone conversations they would have...while Isaac was in utero. He was very much loved and will be missed.

My grandfather was a devoted husband and family man. The one thing I will remember the most about him, was the way he always stared at me across the table. It was a contest/staring game we used to play with each other when I was little to see who could stare the other person down first. Of course, I always won. He was good with me like that and his sense of humor always made me laugh and smile. I love you grandpa and I know you are ok. love, Andrew

Grandpa was one of the most hardworking, caring and fair people I have ever known. He worked so hard to provide for his family, and his family was the most important thing to him.
I have so many fond memories of Grandpa Jerry, and he always had so many of me… He loved to sit around and reminisce about those stories with family or friends and was so very proud of his daughters and his grandchildren. He always loved to meet the newest members of the family, and would love to hold the newborns and play with the children. The younger generation always put a smile on Grandpa’s face. It is for that reason that I am so happy Grandpa had a chance to meet his new great-grandson the day before he passed. I know that for him, continuing to build our family was of such importance, and I know he will always look down on us all with great pride and fond memories.
I love you Grandpa and will miss you forever.

When we think of our father, his sense of humor comes to mind. It was through his quick wit and sense of play that people will remember him especially with the children within the family and around his old neighborhood. They were drawn to him because of his light heartedness and prankish nature. But there was so much more to him.
As a boy, he was full of energy. He was in constant motion, often getting into mischief. How many times we heard of stories of him slipping into the movies walking backwards as people exited or climbing fire escapes. As he grew older, he channeled these energies toward more productive outcomes.
He met our mom when she was just 15 and he was 17. Once he graduated high school, and unable to afford college, he quickly cultivated the art of salesmanship going door to door selling household appliances. Mom and dad were married at the tender ages of 18 and 20. Soon after dad dabbled with the insurance business, but along came an opportunity in retail jewelry and the rest is history.
Even though his pursuit for success in his business was of primary concern, it was his devotion as a husband and father that he derived his greatest success. He wanted for his children what he could not afford for himself; that was an education and career. He was very proud of our achievements and those of his three grandsons. He was generous to his family and worried about all of us constantly. Our mother was the love of his life and they had over 60 years of marriage. They traveled together and lived a comfortable life of retirement in Florida.
In the last year dad had health issues that significantly impaired his hobbies and interests. Despite this, he could not wait to travel to Albuquerque to see his new great grandson, who was born on Nov. 11th.
We will miss our dear father.
