Hi Gwen! How you doin! It's been a bit since my last note to you. We love and miss you dearly. Jenny, and I think of you often, and we often tell old stories to the girls, friends, including RJ, and family about how wonderful it was to have you in our lives. Everyday we are reminded of you because of our little Gwenny. Naming her after, and in honor of, you was spot on. It was Irie who decided that we should name her after you. Gwen is happy, loving, bright, beautiful, caring, smart, strong, eager, joyful, inquisitive, curious, compassionate, understanding, boisterous, funny, and a great little sister. Irie is the best big sister ever, and now we have daughter number 3 on the way! I talk to Matt often and he tells me Blythe and Bryce are doing great. I see pictures of Blythe on face book, and she looks like you more and more. I am so grateful that you are a part of our lives. You are a true friend to Jenny and I. You always opened your home to us, and there were countless times when Bobby or Phil were playing near by, we didn't have any $$, and you miracled us with tickets. You were there for us when we simply needed someone to talk to, and I can tell you that Jenny and I really miss that. You were there for us throughout Jenny's liver-donor surgery, and your support during those trying times was a blessing. You were always so kind to Irie, and she always looked up to you. I also remember the stories you used to tell us about working with the kids in Buffalo, and how much it meant to you and them. I guess that's enough for now. I know you are out there looking down on us and keeping us safe. I thank you for that. I will always look out for your kids, and they know we are here for them if they ever need anything. Here is a picture of Irie and Gwenny for ya. Thanks for keepin on.
Forever Grateful,
John, Jenny, Irie, and Gwenny.
Peace.
We love you.....

How You Doin! We miss you Gwen. We're always thinking and talking about you. Don't worry we say all good things...lol...Our little Gwen, who we named after you is about to turn three. Weirdly enough she's just as free spirited and crazy as you. We love her and you so much. Irie is doing great. Jenny and I are also. We are forever grateful for having you in our lives, and we thank you for being one of our angels looking down on us from above. Tell Jerry I said was up! Lots of love, peace, and happiness!

Years have passed and just now on my daughter Jessicas 38th birthday I learn that her best friend in grammer school had passed. I sit here in tears, despair and joy...just to have known crazy Gwen. ...She always made me laugh and was an absolute joy to watch grow up. I loved her as my daughters friend as she was just so adorable inside and out. Although we haved moved away and lost touch please know she is in our hearts and mind forever. Jessica thought she heard this sad news and is now devastated to find it is true. God.s blessings to you Gwen and your family. I am just so sad.... All my love "Mrs. V" aka The VanNatter family xo

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Gwen's passing. I was back in Buffalo visiting and crossed paths with Jason Majchrzak. He told me about Gwen's death a few years ago. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Jim, Audrey, Claire, Owen, Grammy and Gwen's children Blythe and Bryce.

Gwen was one of my best friends growing up. We had countless adventures and so much fun when we were together. She was a truly unique person that had an undeniable spirit and zest for life. Gwen was a kind soul with a big heart who put those around her at ease with her gentle nature.

A few years had passed since highschool when I ran into Gwen in West Seneca. We went to lunch at Louie's and just picked up where we had left off. She was so easy to talk to. Although we had lost touch over the years and we were seperated by many miles she was still in my thoughts. Many times certain things would remind me of her or one of the crazy things we did when we were young. It would always put a big smile on my face and make me feel like it was just yesterday when we were together.

One time with Gwen in particular stands out in my mind. It was the first day of school in 6th grade. As I got off of the school bus at Winchester Gwen was there waiting for me. My father had passed away about two weeks prior. She told me how sorry she was for my loss and let me know that she was there for me if I needed her. I can still feel her arms around me and the love and caring she expressed when consoling me. She was the best friend a person could ever ask for. This exemplified Gwen's best quality, her big heart and amazing capacity to love.

Whenever I run into people they tell me stories about what great people my parents were. It always warms my heart and makes me feel like they are still with me. It will be difficult for Gwen's children to go on without her, but they will somehow. Hearing the stories about what a special person their mother was will keep her alive in their hearts and minds. Her beautiful spirit will live on in Blythe and Bryce. Gwen will always have a very special place in my heart.

I still can't believe she is gone but I know she is watching out for all of us now. That gives me some peace of mind.....I look forward to the next little thing that transports me back in time to our mispent youth. Much love my friend. May God bless you and your family.

Matt, We all know how deeply you loved Gwen and how devestated you were by her passing. The support that I've seen from Gwen's and your coworkers, family ,friends, neighbors and your Rugby team has been awesome. I always smile when I think of how delighted Gwen acted, as she walked through our house, with the parakeet hanging onto her hair. Her smile was beautiful. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you, Bryce, Blythe, Jim, Audrey, Claire, Owen and Grammy.

My deepest, sincerest sympathy to Gwen's Family and friends. I've known Gwen for three years from working with her in Buffalo. I loved Gwen, we've enjoyed many funny but interesting lunches together during our reading meetings. She always had a smile and a funny story to share. She really enjoyed life and shared that love of life with everyone she knew. What a beautiful, free spirit! Gwen touched my life and she will always be in my heart. The memorial service was just beautiful, heartbreaking, but beautiful. May God give her family and friends strength, comfort and peace.

Mr.& Mrs. Taylor, Claire, Owen, Blythe, Bryce & Matt,
I just found out and have absolutely no words. I've known Gwen since kindergarten. She was one of my dearest friends. I've been away from the area for a long time and sadly it's been a few years since we've been able to connect. We were always able to pick up right where we left off no matter how long I'd been gone. We had many fun times all through school together, especially English class & orchestra, and many fun road trips (with Emile in tow). And I was so privileged to be in on the naming of Blythe. Gwen has and always will hold a special place in my heart. I will miss her dearly. She was such a good friend & a great person. I'm praying for you all.

Audrey and Jim,
I met Gwen in our summer SAT Program and was delighted at how easily she was embraced by the City Honors students. She had a ready and endearing smile that engratiated her to us all and her effort that long, warm summer suggested her determination to succeed. Surely her gift to this world is the warmth and love that she embodied and shared so willingly. May you and Gwen's loved ones find solace in the goodness of her living. May you always know that your efforts in raising her so well gave the world something as wonderful as Gwen.
Peace,

To Gwen's Beloved Family ~
I'm so sorry for your terrible loss. I am honored to say that we were Reading Coaches together. With Gwen, work was always fun - even boring meetings! She had an amazing ability to accomplish all her work, socialize more than anyone I know, sleep - of course not! - and still be 100% ready for the next plan - laughing all the way! We shared vitamins and goopy green drinks that made us feel healthy - grossed everyone out in the process! I'll always treasure my memories of Gwen. Heaven has got to be a fabulously fun place with Gwen there. May you find peace and strength to carry on with fond memories and her spirit in your hearts.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Gwen's family,
I'm sorry to hear the news about Gwen...she was an amazing person. Back in high school, when others were rejecting friendships, Gwen would not. She welcomed everyone as a friend, no matter who they were, which is a trait that seperated her from many, especially at that age. To Blythe and Bryce...carry on your mom's spirit by becoming the special person that she was. My thoughts and prayers and with you all.

Gwen's Family,
I only knew Gwen shortly, as I just started teaching 3 years ago in Buffalo. However, I must say that Gwen befriended me, and made me feel so welcome. Gwen helped me my first year of teaching, by calling me at home and giving me pointers on how to present to a group of veteran teachers-we talked for quite some time on the phone, and she wouldn't hang up until I felt comfortable- she was good like that.

Every time I ran into her (usually at the very cold St. Lawrence Academy grading the ELA's), she was so vibrant and beautiful. She truly embodied the education field and made everyone around her feel just as passionate about it as herself.

She often told funny stories about pranking her neighbors-which to this day I can whole-heartedly laugh outloud! She also told me about her beautiful children and how amazing they are. I only had a small glimpse into Gwen's life, and yet she made an incredible impact on me.

I am very sorry for your loss,my heart aches for all of you. May the love from friends and family help guide you and comfort you through this very difficult time.

Teachers go into this field to try and make a difference in children's lives, but Gwen made a difference in all of our lives.

Gwen was a special gift given to Native American 19 in Buffalo, NY as a Reading Teacher and Coach. She pushed us to our fullest and made each of us feel a little of her spirit each day. I always said she was a "free spirit" and it is because of her our hearts have warmth, and our faces smile with thoughts of her. I am proud to call her my friend and thank God for a gift like Gwen. She is smiling down on us and giggles with each memory spoken. May she give you strength each day and continue to live on! Kathy Page, NAM 19

Matt, Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, and Ms. Czajka: I was so shocked to hear about Gwen. This is truely a trajedy. I have known Gwen since we were in the 3rd grade together, and I will never forget the zest with which Gwen approached life, a rarity in today's society. My prayers and the prayers of my family will be with you.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of Gwen. May you find strength and support from those around you. My thought are with your family though your time of grief.
